What exactly is sorbet?
Some call it Italian Ice and some
complicate it to be the same as sherbet. It is neither of those. Except for the
fact that it is Italian, nothing stands common to it with Italian Ice. Tales of
Sorbet date back to the Roman Emperor Nero. Claimed to be made in the first
century AD, this froze dessert has been gradually maintaining a global pace in
the market. It was also said that King Nero preferred honey and wine over it to
make the icy content more delicious.
So, sorbet is the nothing but frozen
sweetened water with flavorings added to it. Granita is also a similar dessert
but includes textured patterns and is much crunchier when compared to sorbet.
The
tales of Sorbet took a long time to reach all parts of the world but it finally
did get to the place where such desserts are cherished beyond thoughts.
Australia – a country where people don’t just cherish sweetness but also
celebrate it. Sorbet is widely eaten in all parts of Australia. Constant
improvement to this dessert has been maintained all through its occupancy.
Unlike soft serves of Australia, this dish contains no cream.
Australia also being one of the top
consumers of ice cream in the world, the implication of sorbets in this dessert
too came into being. Being named as soft sorbets, this delicious dish has been
occupying hearts and tastes of many dessert lovers.
Addition of various other seasonings has
given this dish a delicious tang. In this world where delicious food is
something that all cherish, soft sorbet is definitely a leader.
